WHAT WE BELIEVE

GOD

We believe that there is one true, holy God, eternally existing in three co-equal persons — Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe now sustained by His sovereign power, providence, and wisdom.

Genesis 1; 3:22, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19, 1 Peter 1:2, 2 Corinthians 13:14

JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. He lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross in their place. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended bodily to Heaven’s glory and will return someday to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He is present in the world to make mankind aware of their need for salvation. He lives within the Christian from the moment of salvation. He also fills and empowers believers for holy living, understanding of spiritual truths and effective ministry. The supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit are all available to the Church today and are to be used for the common good accompanied by the fruit of the Spirit which is godly character. Everything must be done in good order with sincere, godly love.

BIBLE

The Bible is God's Word to us and the unique, full and final authority on all matters of faith and practice. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit and as such is the truth without any mixture of error.

HUMAN BEINGS

People are made in the image of God, to be like Him in character. We are the supreme object of God’s creation. Every person has tremendous value and potential for good, however all of us are naturally slaves of disobedience to God called “sin”. The resulting penalty of sin is death and eternal separation from God.

Genesis 1:27, Psalm 8:3-6, Isaiah 53:6; 59:1-2, Romans 3:23

SALVATION

Salvation is God’s free gift of eternal life to us, but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improving or good deeds. Only by trusting in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from the wrath of God and welcomed to eternal life. When we repent and turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith, we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus into their life by faith to the joy of being in close, experiential relationship with God.

Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 1:12; 14:6, Titus 3:5, Galatians 3:26

MARRIAGE & SEXUALITY

God created people as male and female. God instituted monogamous, faithful marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family. Marriage is exclusively the union of one genetic male and one genetic female, sanctioned by God and evidenced by a marriage ceremony. Biblical marriage, thus defined, is the only acceptable context for sexual relations.
